So I am not normally terribly interested by story lines that involve same sex interactions as they simply don't do much for me. However, I thought that Ms. Portman did a nice job detailing the benefits from each relationship. Cecilia loved both her husband and her maid. It was only together that she gained the full measure of satisfaction that she needed.I really wasn't a fan of Lord Stanton outside the bedroom...his reactions to sex while pregnant while ridiculous to us now, were likely more correct for that time period. Although if my husband tried to pull that, I am sure I would smack him ;).
It was a good read and well balanced for the length.
