I think the most interesting aspect of the story was how she wanted to pursue the D/s aspect with him, and that it wasn't something he brought to the table to start with. Most stories have the guy portrayed as a competent, confident and commanding Dom from the get go, which is nice but I am sure not realistic. I mean in my admittedly limited experience I don't know many guys who would take that kind of leap in the sexual realm.
The rest of the story was fine and the mystery surrounding the break ins at the lab was intriguing. However seeing as how the book has been broken up, I am not sure that I am invested enough in the story to go on and find out what happens.
